About Virtualization, VDI, SBC, Application Compatibility and anything else I feel like
I recently had some time to play with VCDS and a friend’s RNS 315 navigation. By default there is no test mode or hidden menu with extra features like on some other Volkswagen systems.
Using VCDS we can however (temporarily) enable the Developer mode.
To do this you need to go to Select Control Module:
Then select 37-Navigation:
Then select Adaptation:
Select Channel “Developer mode (temporary)” (Permanent is not accepted):
Select Enabled as New value and click Do It!
Now hold the Setup button on the RNS315 for about 20 seconds and you will enter Developer Mode:
Developer Mode has several sub menus, here are some screenshots:

You can change SO with Developermode?? New maps etc.??
There are some minor interesting things you can change like reset counters and also change some (undocumented) settings.
Ok. RNS 315 can upgrade (I have Seat Media System 2.1) to 2.2??
Other thing, the maps of this system is with SD card, i can find somewhere??
Thanks

@ Remko
I have installed a RNS 315 in a Golf mk5. Also changed the CAN gateway. Now the radio is not accessible with VCDS. VCDS comes with “01044- controle module incorrectly coded”. The system starts correctly, shuts down after a period of time, but the error annoys me terribly. Can you help me?
Some of this is available by holding down setup
